"The notion that such persons are gay of heart and carefree is curiously untrue. They lead, as a matter of fact, an existence of jumpiness and apprehension. They sit on the edge of the chair of Literature. In the house of Life they have the feeling that they have never taken off their overcoats."

A small request

"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people."
- Eleanor Roosevelt.

Now then, can we please stop talking about Tiger Woods?

Tell me about the latest book you read, or movie you saw. What did you like about it? What did you wish was done better?

P.S. If you're in the area, come visit me in Chino this Sunday. I'll be at the Borders Bookstore on Grand, near the 71 freeway, from noon until I sell the last book. I hope they have a cot in the back...

I'm tired of the senseless chatter, too. Why do people care so much? *rolls eyes*

I'm currently reading Letters of Ted Hughes. It's interesting to sift through them to find the ones that are most interesting. Sometimes, there's a brilliant bit of phrasing--or Hughes bashing some other writer, hilariously and without restraint.

I hear you about the Tiger Woods chatter. Who cares! It's a family affair (bad pun intended ☺).

Last book I read was actually a mystery/thriller "vook" Embassy by Richard Doetsch. It's digital and combines video clips with the story.

Utilizing this concept with the mystery genre was actually pretty cool as the video clips gave further visual info/reveals to compliment the written story. I'm kinda into this whole transmedia storytelling and am interested to see how it progresses.

Ali - interesting book, altho it probably goes against Eleanor's wisdom. LOL.

Jennifer - that "vook" sounds fascinating. I've been thinking recently about the e-books and how much fun it would be to insert a soundtrack that would play the appropriate music for the scene you're reading.

Really, this is just my way of soliciting ideas for books to read and movies to see!!

Haven't been to a movie lately, but am certainly enjoying So You Think You Can Dance. Love what that show does for these young people.

Reading Jamie Freveletti's Running From the Devil, a thriller with a great beginning. I'm finding it hard to put it down.

I couldn't agree more! Leave it alone already! I just finished reading White Tiger (nothing to do with Tiger Woods) by Aravind Adiga. It was excellent. I liked his story telling technique and the dark humor.

Sylvia - I agree, I LOVE that show. The only part I don't like about it is when I disagree with the votes.

Jane & Pat - thanks for the recommendations, the books sound interesting!

Mr. Peters - as always, you're such a gracious gentleman. BTW, I think you'll like what I'm doing with Benny in the new book. Yes, I'm bringing him back.
